Chris Ciotti joined the Faculty of Arts and Sciences as Associate Dean for Human Resources in November of 2009. Chris first joined Harvard in 2007 in the role of Associate Dean for Human Resources for the Harvard School of Public Health. Chris held this role for two and a half years until she joined FAS in her current position. In her role, Chris is responsible for recruiting, on boarding, compensation, performance management, training and development, labor relations, diversity and organizational development at it relates to FAS staff members.
From 2003 to 2007, Chris was Vice President of Human Resources at Cubist Pharmaceuticals, a publicly traded biotech company focused on the development and sale of anti-infective drugs. While at Cubist, Chris led the human resources organization and built the HR infrastructure as Cubist transitioned from an R&D company to a commercial organization.
Prior to this, Chris joined Lotus Development Corporation in 1988 and worked there until 2003, during which time Lotus was incorporated into IBM. While at Lotus, Chris was Vice President for Human Resources for Lotus from 1998 to 2000, and later served as Director of Business Process and Director of the Rational Software Transition Team for IBM. From 1988 to 1998, Chris practiced as an employment lawyer and held various positions of increasing responsibility within Lotus’ legal department, ultimately serving as Assistant General Counsel. Prior to joining Lotus/IBM, Chris practiced law since 1981 at major law firms in Boston and Philadelphia.
