CareerCore Program

Overview

The FAS CareerCore Program is a unique group-based program developed by FAS Human Resources for junior-level employees looking to tap into their full potential. Going beyond just skill-building, the goal of this this program is to provide participants the tools to navigate career paths, build networks, develop self-leadership skills and learn what it means to bring your authetnic self to work every day.

Participation

CareerCore seeks strong-performing FAS staff members, especially those with diverse backgrounds who are interested in career guidance, self-development and overall professional growth. Application criteria includes:

  • Has demonstrated strong performance in their role and indicates a desire for continued professional development
  • Is able to commit to CareerCore and attend all sessions
  • Job grades 53-56, non-exempt/hourly employees
  • Has been in their current role for at least one year
  • Manager support is required for participation in CareerCore

FY21

Applications are now closed for the FY21 cohort. Applicants will be notified of their status by Friday, September 25.

Participants are required to attend all of the following sessions:

  • Session 1: Kickoff and Introduction to CareerCore
    Wednesday, October 7
    9:30am - 12pm
     
  • Session 2: Using Strengths and Motivation to Develop with Intentionality
    Wednesday, October 21
    12pm - 2:30pm
     
  • Session 3: Bringing Your Authentic Self to Work
    Wednesday, November 4
    9am - 12pm
     
  • Session 4: Understanding Your Personal Biases and Overcoming Biases in the Workplace
    Wednesday, November 18
    12pm - 2:30pm
     
  • Session 5: Working Towards the Future Leveraging Technology and Your Network
    Thursday, December 10
    1pm - 4pm
